I don’t expect any money, from anyone. I’m not going to hound you about subscribing (there will be one, and only one mention of it in my posts). I’m not going to lament seeing nothing roll in, either, and I’m not going to raise the subscription prices — ever. That’s my promise.
Below, you can see the pricing schedule. I’m putting this here, and pinning this message to my front page, so that my promise will never be forgotten.
Monthly subscribers will only ever be charged $6 a month.
Annual pledges will only ever be $72 a year.
Founding pledges are a little different. It’s set to $100 per year, however …
Per Substack’s support page, a founding pledge allows you to subscribe at any amount above the monthly and yearly plans. Cool.
Finally, I’ve set my fees to be $1 more than the absolute minimum Substack’s estimator tool allows.
I get 90% of any revenue made. Cool. What does that look like?
Monthly: (0.90 x $6) = $5.40
Annual: (0.90 x $72) = $64.80
Founding Pledge: (0.90 x0 100) = $90.00 … or 90% of whatever you choose.
That’s it! As clear and transparent as i can be.
Finally, I just want to emphasize, pledges are entirely optional, and not expected.
